How to Install Instagram on an iPhone ipad and Android

The first Instagram version was available for download on October 6, 2010, for iPhone users only. This was a good decision on their part: the popularity of iPhones coupled with Instagram’s ease of use when it came to sharing photos led to more than one million registered Instagram users by the end of 2010. There is a possibility to install the iPhone app not only on your iPhone, but also on your iPad if you prefer to use your tablet.

Installing Instagram on an Android

The Instagram staff, after being satisfied with the implementation of the Instagram app for the iPhone, turned their attention to developing the Instagram application for the Android platform. A million users downloaded this app on its first day of release in April 2012, more than a year after it was released.

Here’s how to install Instagram from the Google Play Store:

1. On the Home screen, tap on the Play Store icon.
   Play Store isn’t available on the Home screen by default, so you’ll need to tap Apps on the Home screen and then tap Play Store in the Apps screen.
2. At the top of the screen, tap the Search box and type the word Instagram.
   As soon as you type Instagram appears in the list of results.
3. Select Instagram from the results list.
   You will see the app information screen.

5. Tap Install.
6. Tap Open.

Installing Instagram on an iPhone

You can easily download Instagram from the App Store to your iPhone by following these steps:

1. Tap the App Store icon to open it.
2. Tap on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen to bring up the magnifying glass.
3. If the Search icon appears in the lower-right corner of your screen, tap on it.
4. You can search for Instagram by tapping the search box at the top of the screen.
   You will find Instagram at the top of the results list once you type the first few letters.
5. Tap Instagram from the list of results.
   You will be able to see the app information on the screen.
6. On an iPhone, you can use the Instagram app.
7. Tap the Get button.
   In order to sign into the App Store, you must enter your password in the Sign In to iTunes Store window and then tap the Buy button. (If you use Touch ID instead of typing your password, place the appropriate finger or thumb on the Home button.)
8. Tap Open.

If you want to open Instagram the next time you want to, slide to the Home screen where there is room for icons, since that’s where you can find the Instagram icon.

Installing Instagram on an iPad

The fact that Instagram has not created a native app for the iPad is another one of life’s mysteries (and not even close to the mystery of where missing socks go). However, you can use the iPhone app on the iPad.

Here is how you can install Instagram on an iPad:

1. Tap the App Store icon to open it.
2. In the lower-right corner of the screen, tap on the Search icon.
3. At the top of the screen there is a search box, and as soon as you tap it, you will be able to type the word Instagram.

9. In the upper-left corner of the screen, you will find the Instagram app.
10. Enter your Apple ID and password in the Sign In to iTunes Store window to sign into the App Store if you need to sign in to it. After that, tap Buy. You can also place the appropriate finger or thumb on the Home button instead, if you are using Touch ID.
11. Tap Open.
