How to Download and Save All Your Instagram Photos
Are you wondering how you can save the photos you take on Instagram? You can learn how to save and download your own Instagram photos, or the photos of other Instagram users.
If you’ve been using Instagram for a while, you’ve probably collected quite a collection of your own photos over the years, as well as those you’ve saved from others. You can always view them on your Instagram page, but what if you want to save copies as a backup?
It’s pretty easy to save Instagram photos these days, as long as you know what you’re doing. We will guide you through the process of downloading and saving photos from Instagram on your iPhone, Android phone, and PC.
How to Download All Your Instagram Photos at Once
The Instagram app has a simple tool that lets you download everything you posted on the app in one go and send it directly to your computer or phone. First of all, you need to sign into Instagram on your desktop or laptop or open the Instagram mobile app in order to use it.
When using the mobile application, tap on the Profile icon located on the bottom right, followed by the three-line Menu located in the upper right. From the menu that appears, tap on Settings. From the options menu that appears, tap on Security > Download Data.
If you are on a desktop, you will see a menu when you click your profile picture, then you can choose Settings from there. On the following page, choose Privacy and Security on the left hand side. Then scroll down to the Data Download header and click Request Download.
If you choose either method, Instagram will take you to the download request page, where you can obtain a copy of everything you have posted.
According to Instagram, this can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour for this to happen. This includes all “your photos, comments, profile information, and more.” This can take up to 48 hours, but should not take longer than that in most cases.
In the email address field, your address should already be filled in, so click Next to continue. When using the desktop application, you can choose to format the message in either HTML or JSON. After clicking the button, you’ll be required to enter your password, and Instagram will begin generating the related data for you.
As soon as an email has been sent to you with a link to everything you have ever shared on Instagram, you can access it. It is only valid for a few days, so if you want to download your data, do it as soon as possible. In a short amount of time, this is the best way to archive a copy of your entire Instagram profile and keep it safe.
How to Download Instagram Photos on iPhone
The Instagram app does not offer an official way to download your own photos from iPhone, Android, or the web. There’s a high probability that you will be tempted to download a mobile application that claims to do this for you, but you should stay away from most of these apps. In order to prevent your Instagram password from being stolen, you should never enter it into a third-party app or website.
Nevertheless, some downloader apps can be considered to be safe to use since they do not require your credentials to use. Such an app is iGram, which works on both mobile and desktop devices. There are some ads on it, but they aren’t overly intrusive.
If you want to use it, all you have to do is find the Instagram photo that you want to download. It doesn’t matter if it’s one of yours or someone else’s – tap the three-dot button at the top-right of the post and select Copy Link. Next, open iGram in Safari or another browser.
If you want to add a link to your photo, tap on the URL box and then choose Paste. After that, click the Download button. After a few moments, you’ll see the image appear below.
If you want to quickly download the file in a variety of sizes, you can tap the Download 1080w or other buttons. If you prefer, long-press on the image and choose Add to Photos or Share > Save Image instead.
You can also toggle a setting in the Instagram app which will make sure that a copy of everything you post is saved to your smartphone for future reference. This can be enabled by tapping the profile icon in the bottom-right corner of Instagram, then opening the three-line menu in the top-right corner. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Settings.
Please select the Account > Original Photos option from the drop-down menu. With the Save Originals option enabled, any photos you take with the Instagram camera will be saved as a copy of the original, unedited version. By following this method, you will be able to ensure that you don’t lose any data, and you won’t have to do it manually every time.
How to Download Instagram Photos on Android
The procedure for downloading Instagram photos on Android is very similar to the above-described process for iPhones. We’ll cover it again here with Android screenshots, due to a few minor differences.
You can save a picture from Instagram by opening the application. To copy the link, click on the three-dot menu button above the post and then choose Copy Link from the drop down menu. During the next step, open Chrome or another browser and navigate to iGram.
If you press and hold inside the text field, the Paste option will appear and you will need to tap that. Then, click on the Download button and wait a few moments for the image to be processed. To immediately download the 1080w video, scroll down and tap on the Download button or one of the other buttons. It is also possible to long-press the image and choose to download it if that is what you prefer.
You can find your downloaded image by tapping the three-dot menu button at the top-right corner of Chrome and choosing Downloads from the list. You can also use a file explorer app to browse to Downloads and check it there.
If you have an Android device, you’ll also find the option to save a copy of all future Instagram posts. On the Instagram mobile app, tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Next, click the three-line menu in the top-right and select Settings from the window that appears at the bottom-right corner. On the next menu, choose Account > Original Posts.
In order to save copies of everything you post to your phone’s storage, you must enable the options here. In addition to the option to save unedited photos, Instagram on Android now lets you choose to also save any media you’ve posted or uploaded to your account.
How to Download Instagram Photos on a PC
If you have a desktop or laptop, iGram will work fine. In order to use it on a desktop browser, you have to click on the three-dot menu button on an Instagram post and choose Copy Link. Paste it into iGram to access a downloadable copy of the image, just like on mobile.
In order to access and download Instagram images through a web page’s source code, you can use a trick. In order to do this, simply click on the images’ timestamps (such as 15 Minutes Ago) to open their permanent URLs. Once on that page, right-click the image and choose View page source.
You will see a bunch of HTML code in a new tab, but please do not be alarmed if you aren’t familiar with it. The way to find this text is to click Ctrl + F and then the word of image to access the line that contains only this text. Next, find the URL in the line that appears after content=. It will usually have .jpg somewhere in it; you’ll need to copy the entire URL for it to work.
I recommend that you copy this URL and open it in a new tab to load the image only. Then you can right-click and choose Save image to download a copy.
How to Quickly Download Many Instagram Photos From a Profile
If you are trying to download many pictures from one account, using the above methods is pretty slow, due to the fact that each photo has to be downloaded separately. It is also possible to download many images from the Instagram profile via other Instagram downloader sites that let you download many images at once.
Nevertheless, they are not perfect, as a majority of them will only allow you to download a few images in a single session, and most of them will charge you to download everything from your account. When it comes to downloading just a few recent posts from an account, it’s faster to use a service such as Bigbangram or Ingramer.
You can take advantage of the Download profile option in both apps.
This slideshow loads all recent images from a user and you can use the Download option to grab their photos in quick succession. You could give it a try if the previous option is too slow for you.
Don’t Forget About Bookmarking Images on Instagram
Even though it is not the same as downloading a post, you can also hit the Bookmark icon on the post page to save it for later. The three-line menu on your profile page will allow you to access all your saved bookmarks by tapping on the Saved option on the three-line menu.
Instagram has the ability to let you bookmark a photo, so you can return to it without having to copy the link or downloading it. These are only visible to you; nobody else can see your saved posts on Instagram.
You need to keep in mind that bookmarks are only shortcuts to existing Instagram posts on Instagram. In the event that the owner of a photo you have saved takes the photo down, the bookmark will no longer work.
I am sorry to inform you that there is currently no way to download all the images that you have saved on Instagram at once. Although there are some third-party tools available to do this, as previously mentioned, you should be careful about trusting these apps as they can compromise your Instagram account.
Additionally, you can also create and manage other Collections on this page in addition to the Saved list by default. It can be useful for gathering posts around a particular theme, for example, ideas for a wedding.
A Simple Guide to Storingou tap the Bookmark icon on an Instagram post, you can then choose Save to Collection to put it somewhere else. Tap a collection from the list that appears, or hit the Plus icon to make a new one.
